Heroism is valor, courage, courage, courage, determination, selflessness, the ability to accomplish a feat. The hero takes upon himself the solution of an exceptional task in terms of its scale and difficulties, imposes on himself a greater measure of responsibility and duties than is presented to people in normal conditions generally accepted norms of behavior, overcomes special obstacles in this regard. A personal feat can play the role of an initiative, an example for many people and turn into mass heroism. A person performs heroic deeds because he considers it necessary. This is a kind of conscious choice in following one's duty as a citizen in a critical situation, even to the detriment of oneself and one's life. Over the centuries of heroic history, Russia has such a number of feats that no other state in the world has, there have not been and will not be such a number of Heroes of the Fatherland.

V different years Heroes of the Fatherland were called differently: Folk heroes, Knights of the highest orders, Knights of St. George, Heroes Soviet Union, Knights of the Order of Glory and Labor Glory Heroes of Socialist Labor, Knights of the Orders of the Soviet Union, Heroes Russian Federation. Cavaliers of orders of modern Russia.

All of them are united, along with the common Motherland, by the most important factor - the origins of their heroism and courage, the origins of their exploits. Heroism and exploits, as the highest manifestation of patriotic feelings, have always been and remain the national treasure of our Fatherland.

What kind of miracle heroism is, it is difficult to answer for each his own. Why do some people who look no different from others, decide to save a person? After all, when you rush to help someone, you don’t think what they will say, you just rush to help ... It would seem that courage, selflessness and courage are such powerful foundations of heroism that even to the uninitiated it will seem that these pillars of personality are quite enough to commit feat. However, in reality, relying only on courage, selflessness and courage will turn out to be a waste of energy if thought does not come out in unity with these human factors. Loss of thought, and sacrifices in vain. An act then becomes a real embodiment of heroism, when under it there is a wide plateau of the meaning of life. We can recall many examples of heroism during the Great Patriotic War. Those who fought at the front were ordinary people who, in extreme situation elevated to heroism. They were exactly the same people as you and me.

“To be always heroes” this slogan was vividly embodied in the immortal feat of the Panfilovites, which was accomplished by 28 soldiers of the 316th division of General I.V. Panfilov. Defending the line at the Dubosekovo junction, this group, under the command of political instructor V.G. Klochkova on November 16 entered into single combat with 50 German tanks, accompanied by a large detachment of enemy machine gunners. Soviet soldiers fought with unparalleled courage and stamina. “Russia is great, but there is nowhere to retreat. Behind Moscow, ”the political instructor addressed the soldiers with such an appeal. And the soldiers fought to the death, 24 of them, including VG Klochkov, died the death of the brave, but the enemy did not pass here. A vivid example that embodies the heroic spirit of our soldiers is the feat of a marine fighter, Komsomol member M.A. Panikahin. During an enemy attack on the outskirts of the Volga, he, engulfed in flames, rushed to meet a Nazi tank and set it on fire with a bottle of fuel. The hero burned down together with the enemy tank. His feat was compared by his comrades with the feat of Gorky's Danko: the light of feat Soviet hero became a beacon that other warrior heroes looked up to. What fortitude was shown by those who did not hesitate to cover with their bodies the embrasure of the enemy bunker, which was spewing deadly fire! Private Alexander Matrosov was one of the first to accomplish such a feat. During the Great Patriotic War, Matrosov's feat was repeated by over 200 Soviet soldiers and officers! Of course, selflessness, contempt for death in the fight against the enemy does not necessarily entail the loss of life.

Moreover, often these qualities of Soviet soldiers help them mobilize all their spiritual and physical strength in order to find a way out of a difficult situation. Faith in the people, confidence in victory, in the name of which the Russian man goes to his death without fear of it, inspires the fighter, pours new strength into him. The whole world knows the iron steadfastness of our soldiers in the days of the heroic defense of Leningrad, Sevastopol, Kiev, Odessa. The determination to fight the enemy to the end was a mass phenomenon and found its expression in the oaths of individual fighters and units. Here is one of these oaths taken by Soviet sailors during the days of the defense of Sevastopol: “For us, the slogan “Not a step back!” became the slogan of life. We are all, as one, unshakable. If among us there is a lurking coward or a traitor, then our hand will not falter - he will be destroyed.

Any person can be a hero, having such feelings as: compassion, love, mutual assistance, understanding and patience. And therefore, one can become a hero not only in war, but also in Everyday life: saving a drowning man, preventing a fire or a terrorist attack, standing up for the weak.

You can become a hero for yourself when you do not succumb to the entreaties to try drugs, smoking, alcohol - this is also a feat, not to succumb to the “weak” reason, but at the same time you will win your life, your future and make your own choice in your favor . And when you yourself can answer “no to evil”, then you can try to tell your friends about it - this is also a feat to express your opinion.

And if so, then everything in this life will change for the better!

In any case, everyone should become a hero for themselves, feel like a hero, try to be a hero. Then the people around you may begin to admire you. The main thing is to try hard! The main thing is to want!

The uniqueness of the Ministry of Internal Affairs among other bodies state power consists in the fact that it is law enforcement agencies that more often than others directly contact citizens. The observance of law in the life of the country, order on the streets of cities, and sometimes peace in the houses and apartments of the citizens themselves depend on the work of police officers. Only the Ministry of Health and social development or the Ministry of Education and Science.

Today, many aspects of the daily life of citizens depend on the work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The internal affairs bodies are engaged in ensuring order on the streets, preventing and solving crimes, protecting and protecting private property, state and commercial facilities. The units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs fight for safety on the roads of the country, ensure the holding of mass events, day and night come to the aid of citizens in emergency situations. From the minister to the district police officer The Ministry of the Interior is guarding the interests of the citizen, the law and society.

As you know, a person is not born a patriot, endowed with patriotic consciousness, courage, heroism and courage, a sense of loyalty, the traditions of the state of which he is a citizen.

The heroism of employees of the internal affairs bodies is an organic unity, a fusion of labor and military heroism, since the conditions of service are such that it is difficult to draw a clear line between a labor feat and the manifestation of heroism, courage, courage of personnel for restoring constitutional order, disarming gangs, detaining an armed criminal , calming the hooligan crowd, stopping the movement of vehicles with a drunk driver at the wheel is, on the one hand, a common official activity for special police units, operational staff, traffic police officers, and on the other hand, this is the accomplishment of a feat, a heroic deed.

The basis of heroism among employees of internal affairs bodies is loyalty to the Oath, pride in serving for the glory of the Fatherland, the readiness of personnel to perform official tasks in strict accordance with the Constitution and laws of the Russian Federation, to follow the glorious traditions of previous generations of internal affairs employees.

In modern conditions, we call patriots and service heroes those employees who do not leave active creative activity aimed at serving the people, society, the Motherland and which is realized in the impeccable performance of tasks to protect the constitutional rights of citizens, proper protection of public order and security, active aggressive fight against crime.

Fire with repetition

Bolot Sanzuev, a senior policeman of the detention group of the Department of Private Security in the Dzhidinsky district of Buryatia, who was not on duty, peacefully walked with his wife around the village of Petropavlovka. It was a warm August evening in 2015.

Unfortunately, the pleasant walk turned out to be short-lived: Bolot noticed that smoke was pouring from the windows of the apartment on the second floor of the residential building. The policeman rushed to the entrance of the house. “Running to the place, I saw that the door was closed from the outside,” Ensign Sanzuev said, when the passions had already subsided. - To open it, I needed a crowbar. I started knocking on the neighbors' doors. It’s good that they responded quickly and gave me a crowbar, and I was able to quickly break down the door.”

Three frightened children ran out the broken door towards Sanzuev, whom their parents left alone and went away on business. Later, when drawing up the protocol, it turned out that Bolot saved the same family with the same three children from a fire under similar circumstances, but from a different apartment back in 2012.

I framed myself

This story happened in the Republic of Khakassia in July 2015. A column of nine buses carried 300 children from children's camp home along the highway Abakan - Ak-Dovurak. As expected, the convoy was accompanied by several patrol cars. Suddenly, a car pulled out of the oncoming lane. Another couple of seconds - and he would have driven into one of the buses. But the traffic police officer, company commander Alexander Kosolapov did not lose his head. He unscrewed the steering wheel and blocked with his car (and himself inside) a column of buses from the offender in the passenger car.

Kosolapov's patrol car turned into something that only remotely resembled a patrol car, and the company commander himself was taken to the hospital in serious condition. However, not a single child was hurt. For the sake of this, in fact, Alexander twisted the steering wheel.

Girl on the rails

On the morning of October 8, 2015, 26-year-old Antonina Panteleeva went to work as usual. But what was unusual about this fragile blonde was that she worked not just by anyone, but as an investigator of the investigative department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Danilovsky district in Moscow. At 8.40 am, the investigator descended onto the Kolomenskaya metro platform filled with people. The train hasn't arrived yet. Then Antonina heard a woman's cry. “I ran to her voice,” the girl later said, “and saw a man lying flat on the rails.” He lost consciousness and, falling on the rails, cut his face. Antonina immediately jumped off on the way.

Dumbfounded passengers began to call the control room to report that there were people on the rails. In the meantime, a young man from the crowd jumped off after the girl (looking at the photo of Antonina, we understand him). Together, they managed to lift the unconscious man and hand him over to the passengers crowded on the platform, and then get out on their own. Antonina made sure that the victim was handed over to the doctors who came to the rescue, and, taking her purse, she went to work.

At the call of the tail

Another heroic story from the depths of the underground, as we sometimes, in a fit of poetry, call the metro. On the evening of July 29, 2015, an incident that threatened to become a nightmare for animal rights activists occurred at the Kurskaya metro station on the Circle Line. A homeless hairy dog jumped onto the rails. It began, to the dismay of the onlookers on the platform, to run back and forth, wagging its tail nonchalantly.

It seemed that the death of the dog under the wheels of the train was inevitable. But unexpectedly, a man in a police uniform jumped onto the rails - later it turned out that it was Vladislav Potutaev, a sergeant of the Metro's Internal Affairs Directorate. The sergeant fearlessly took the dog in his arms and raised it to the platform, after which, to the applause of the passengers, he climbed onto it himself. The applause, as you understand, is not for climbing the platform yourself, but for saving the dog.

Inspector Psychoanalyst

Traffic police inspector Movsar Tsuroev from Perm, on his own heroic deed, demonstrated to the public that a policeman must also have the skills of a psychologist. This was in March 2015. Movsar was returning by car from a friend at two in the morning, it was his day off. In the middle of the bridge over the Kama, the inspector slowed down: because of the mysterious crowd of cars and people, it was only possible to pass in the oncoming lane. Professional curiosity did not allow Tsuroev to pass by. He pushed his way through the crowd and saw the cause of the commotion.

On the outside of the railing stood a young girl. She held on to the ice railing with her hands, cried, and with all her appearance demonstrated her intention to jump from a 50-meter height into an icy river. When Movsar asked if anyone tried to talk to the girl, everyone answered in the negative. But many filmed a potential suicide on the phone. The inspector immediately began to ask the girl questions. It turned out that the groom left her on the eve of the wedding.

However, we will give the floor to Movsar himself: “She was very tense, in such a state any careless word could hurt her and provoke her to irreparable actions. The distance between us did not allow us to intervene physically and prevent her from falling, it was necessary to reduce it, and for this it was necessary to gain confidence. Well, we Caucasians are not deprived of a sense of humor: one joke, another - and so I persuaded her to give me the number of a failed husband, said that I wanted to talk with him and explain how to behave with girls. I knew that she would hardly remember the numbers. And so it happened: she handed me her mobile and let me at arm's length. When she took out her phone from her pocket, I, of course, was frightened: I did not take my eyes off the stiff fingers of the second hand, which kept her from falling.

Finally, after other tricks, the inspector managed to get close enough to the girl to grab her and neutralize her from herself. The next day, according to the inspector, the already cheerful girl called him and thanked him for her nightly salvation.

The word "police" has ancient Greek roots. The literal translation is "city, state". For the first time this term was used in Germany in 1450 and until the 19th century it was used as a designation for all areas of state responsibility. The police of Kazakhstan is still a relatively young body, this year it turns 25 years old. The countdown goes back to 1992, when the Supreme Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan adopted the law "On the bodies of internal affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan." It was the first legal act that defined the tasks and functions of the Kazakh police. But despite short term, over the years, the structure has undergone many changes, advanced approaches to combat crime have been introduced and tremendous experience has been accumulated. The policemen of independent Kazakhstan carry out their daily service at the law enforcement post, and there is undoubtedly a place for heroism in their work. together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan offers to get acquainted with the police, who, without hesitation, can be called the heroes of our time.

Omirzhan Temirbekov has served in the internal affairs bodies since August 2002. Despite the fact that he grew up in the family of a machine operator father and a housewife mother, Temirbekov wanted to become a policeman since childhood. In this profession, he was attracted by the fact that a policeman must be courageous and courageous. And he proved it with his work.

Omirzhan Temirbekov at work.

On June 9, 2016, an ordinary day began for him in the service in Astana. He was returning from lunch to work, but suddenly he heard the cries of children for help. They shouted loudly and pointed towards the Sarybulak River. Omirzhan saw a boy lying face up in the water. Without hesitation, the police captain threw himself into the river. “At that moment there were no thoughts. Something had to be done. I pulled the child ashore. It turned out to be a boy of 11-12 years old. , pumped out together. He did a heart massage, after which he came to his senses. Someone called an ambulance, waited for the brigade. I did everything I could, "recalls Temirbekov.

He reluctantly talks about his act, he is embarrassed, because he does not like being called a hero. "I don't consider myself a hero. Anyone should have done that," Temirbekov says. His wife Danira Suleimenova also speaks about the modesty of the policeman: "He spoke only briefly about his act, and then quickly ran away to work."

Omirzhan Temirbekov with his family.

43-year-old Omirzhan Nurzhanovich still works as an inspector of the SOBR Department of Internal Affairs of Astana. He is the father of three children and the owner of the medal "For Contribution to Law Enforcement".

Our next hero has been serving in the internal affairs bodies since 1996 and now works as a district inspector of the Novo-Maikuduk police department of the Karaganda Internal Affairs Directorate. Just like his colleague from Astana, Police Major Dauren Altaev wanted to be a police officer since childhood. “I was very fond of uniforms and even sewed homemade epaulettes to my coat,” recalls Dauren Kasymzhanovich.

Dauren Altaev with his family.

On March 1, 2016, the police department on duty received a message that children had been crying in the apartment on Vinitskaya Street for about an hour, and no one was opening the door. Upon arrival at the scene, the policeman discovered that the mother left four minor children unattended, and a fire started in the apartment. Risking his life, Dauren Altaev entered the burning apartment and literally began to search for children by touch.

“The apartment was completely shrouded in smoke. My eyes could not be opened, weepy from the smoke, my throat was itching. I didn’t manage to go inside the first time. it was impossible, I squatted through the smoky and burning rooms. But I had one thing in my head - I must find the children. I went through one room, felt, there was no one. Further, also room after room. And then my hand found a child's hand. I tried to see: four kids were sitting, or rather, already unconscious, huddled in a ball, lay. At that moment, my happiness knew no bounds. Grabbing the younger children in my arms, I went back. But I had to go back for two more. Only this and pounded with a hammer in my head. I don’t remember how I reached the street. Having handed over the children to the hands of the emergency doctors who came to the rescue, I went back. My head was already spinning. I could not leave the children. When everything was already behind, the neighbors circled around me, all I kissed and thanked," recalls Dauren Kasymzhanovich.

After rescuing the children, having recovered his breath a little, the policeman helped the residents put out the fire. Dauren Altaev also does not consider his act heroic. "We have such a profession and every policeman should have done this," he notes. By order of the head of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Karaganda region, Altaev was awarded a wristwatch with the symbols of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and by order of the akim of the region - a cash prize.

One of the main skills of a police officer is teamwork. Often it is in tandem with a partner that law enforcement officers successfully fulfill their duty. So, Serikbek Alpysbekov and Maksat Aliyev committed a heroic deed during their duty on the night of April 9-10, 2016 in Taldykorgan. While patrolling the administrative area in the Vostochny microdistrict, the police noticed flames and smoke above one of the houses. The extension was on fire, the fire was about to spread to a two-story residential building. The situation was aggravated by the fact that the annex was littered with flammable debris and a parked car was parked next to the house. Nevertheless, the police reached out to the sleeping tenants and took them out of the smoky house. It turned out that a wife and six young children lived in it. Before the arrival of firefighters and ambulances, the police, together with the owners of the house, managed to bring down the fire and prevent it from spreading to neighboring houses.

Serikbek Alpysbekov and Maksat Aliyev.

By that time, Alpysbekov, deputy platoon commander of the road patrol police company, had served in the internal affairs bodies for more than 16 years, and his partner, police lieutenant Maksat Aliyev, had only two years. “For the third year now, we have been working with him. He is a young but brave guy. We stepped into the squad and noticed a fire while patrolling the site. Without hesitation, we immediately climbed over the fence and began to wake up the owners. I think this is an ordinary ordinary act police officer," said Serikbek Olzhabayevich.

Rewarding police officer Serikbek Alpysbekov.

Maksat's wife Indira Zhaksylykbaeva proudly calls herself the wife of a policeman and considers her husband's colleagues to be real heroes, patriots and professionals in their field. “The next day after this incident, he returned from service as usual and in a calm tone said that that night he and the commander had saved eight people. At first I was surprised, and then I was in shock, then there was great pride in my husband. We have a small the child is growing up, and I already know what stories about his dad I will tell him,” said Indira. For their courage and courage, the police officers were awarded certificates of honor and letters of thanks.

Two more partners - 26-year-old Yerlik Kokoshev and 23 year old Tilek Kenzhebaev In the spring of 2016, two men were rescued in Ust-Kamenogorsk, who found themselves under the rubble at an industrial dump. "On that day, as usual, we were at the checkpoint, a man approached us and said that in one of the districts at the construction site, people were piled up - searchers for non-ferrous metal. We immediately reported the incident to the duty unit and hurried to the place of emergency," - recalls the events of that day Tilek Kenzhebaev.

Tilek Kenzhebaev and Yerlik Kokoshev.

There were several people at the site who were also injured in the collapse, but managed to get out. No one was heard under the rubble. As it turned out, the men dug a large hole, about ten meters, and tried to find scrap metal. But because of the warming, everything began to melt and the ground collapsed, leaving four people in the pit.

Tilek Kenzhebaev.

“We didn’t have any tools with us, and we started digging with our hands. After a while, we stumbled upon someone’s hand, and then it became clear that we had found the victims. We pulled people out, but, unfortunately, two of them died. Survivors we provided first aid, and after that doctors and rescuers arrived. At that moment, we somehow didn’t think about ourselves. It was only later that I realized that there was a danger for us too. The residual soil could collapse at any moment. And at that moment they didn’t think about anything like that, they just did their duty,” the policeman said.

Yerlik Kokoshev.

For their heroism, courage and dedication, senior police sergeant Kokoshev and police sergeant Kenzhebaev were awarded commemorative watches, souvenirs and certificates of honor from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Of course, the article does not describe all the heroic deeds committed by the Kazakh police. And there will be many more - thousands of law enforcement officers go to work every day. Even though they themselves do not consider their actions heroic, ordinary citizens must remember that it is precisely such people who protect their peace.

From the first days of the war, employees of the internal affairs bodies stood up to defend their Fatherland. Everyone knows the heroic deed of the defenders Brest Fortress, among which were the fighters of the 132nd separate battalion of the NKVD escort troops. Chekist soldiers courageously defended the fortress, inflicting heavy blows on the enemy's manpower and equipment. German General F.E. Blumenritt wrote about Brest: "... border guards and NKVD officers defended the old fortress... to the last."

Heroism and courage in the defense of the Brest Fortress were shown by N.A. Tokarev, A.P. Chuborev, A. Lapin, D.F. Kozhanov, V.A. Brodyanoy, G.A. Romanov, Yu.K. Degilev and other fighters. Until the last breath, the private of the escort battalion F.V. Ryabov. He saved the life of one of the leaders of the heroic defense of the fortress - political instructor A.A. By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, for military merit in the fight against the Nazi invaders, Private Ryabov Fedor Vasilyevich was awarded the Order Patriotic War 1st degree posthumously.

Immortal is the feat of the defenders of the Brest railway station, headed by the head of the line department, police lieutenant colonel A.Ya. Vorobyov. The brave fighters delayed the advance of German trains deep into Soviet territory for almost a day and thereby helped to disrupt Hitler's plan lightning attack. With the feat of the defenders of the station in the city of Brest, one can compare the battle of a police battalion under the command of Captain K.S. Vladimirov, who near Mogilev, together with a unit of the 172nd Infantry Division of the Red Army, stood in the way of the advance of the enemy troops. 250 police officers of the city of Mogilev, cadets and teachers of the Minsk and Grodno schools held the height continuously attacked by the Nazi troops for 6 days.

Best Features soldiers of law and order, their loyalty to the people, devotion to the Motherland, the strength of their spirit clearly reflects the activities of the Moscow and Leningrad police in the period of 1941. Together with the soldiers of the Red Army, with hundreds of thousands of people's volunteer militias, the police officers stood up to defend the Motherland.

The Decree of the PVS of the USSR of June 22, 1941 "On Martial Law" transferred the internal affairs bodies to the full subordination of the military command. The organs of the NKVD and, above all, the police were entrusted with responsible tasks during the period of fierce battles for Moscow, Leningrad, Stalingrad and other Soviet cities.

After the historical parade of troops on November 7, 1941, a motorized rifle regiment, formed from police officers and the UNKVD of Moscow and the Moscow region, went to the front lines. Not only those police officers who fought directly on the fronts made a contribution to the defense of Moscow and Leningrad. The militia workers have a lot of new duties: evacuation of the population, enterprises and household goods; the fight against plunderers of food, state and private property; neutralization of enemy agents, control over observance of blackout, etc. Policemen put out fires, guarded the apartments of evacuated citizens, detained the spreaders of false rumors, and ensured order during shelling and enemy air raids.

In connection with the approach of the enemy to Moscow, the GKO ordered the NKVD of the USSR to take under special protection the zone adjacent to the capital from the west and south along the Kalinin-Rzhev-Mozhaisk-Tula-Kolomna-Kashira line. The GKO demanded that the headquarters of the protection of the Moscow zone be organized under the NKVD of the USSR, operationally subordinating to it the troops of the NKVD located in the zone, the police, the regional organizations of the NKVD, fighter battalions and barrage detachments. In the autumn of 1941, the internal troops not only carried out the tasks of maintaining public order in the capital, but also took a direct part in the hostilities near Moscow. Along with the units of the Red Army, four divisions, two brigades, several separate units and three armored trains of internal troops were involved in the defense of Moscow.

In the most intense period of the battle near Moscow, the NKVD troops were tasked with the direct defense of the capital. For example, the Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the NKVD, in cooperation with units of the Red Army, was supposed to prepare the area of Red Square and other squares for defense in order to prevent the enemy from breaking through the Garden Ring and at the same time be ready for military operations in the directions of the Rizhsky railway station, Leningradskoye and Volokolamskoye highways maintaining order in the surrounding streets.

In the first days of the war, divisions of the people's militia began to form, which included a significant part of the police and fire departments. On July 4, 1941, the head of the Leningrad City Police Department E.S. Grushko issued a special order indicating that "... the work of the police is work at the front and it is unacceptable to weaken its ranks ...". Therefore, the issue of the departure of each police officer to the army was decided in agreement with the leadership of the police.

In the first period of the Great Patriotic War, the NKVD troops were actively involved in hostilities, partly in the second period (November 1942 - December 1943). After 1943, in connection with the significant successes of the Red Army in battles with the Nazi invaders, formations and units of the internal troops were mainly engaged in the performance of their service and combat tasks and were involved in direct participation in hostilities at the fronts only in exceptional cases.

characteristic feature combat use of the NKVD troops in the initial period of the war was that they, as a rule, went into battle in their places of deployment, where the war found them. Subsequently, passing into the operational or direct subordination of the combined arms command, they were used at their discretion, as well as on the instructions of the People's Commissariat of Internal Affairs of the USSR. At the same time, in a number of places, as was the case near Leningrad, Moscow, Stalingrad and in the Caucasus, the Headquarters of the Supreme High Command, as well as the military councils of the fronts, specially sent NKVD troops to those places where, together with units of the Red Army, it was necessary to detain the enemy at any cost.

A glorious page in the combat history of the Internal Troops is their participation in the heroic defense of Leningrad. On the far and near approaches to the city, battles were fought by the 1st, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd divisions of the NKVD troops, which included parts of the border and internal troops, including employees of the internal affairs bodies. On the Leningrad front, sniper movement showed high combat effectiveness. By November 1942, in the 21st Rifle Division of the NKVD, reorganized into the 109th Rifle Division of the Red Army, 482 soldiers and commanders were awarded state awards. Lieutenant A.A. Divochkin, senior political officer N.M. Rudenko and private A.M. Kokorin was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.

In the context of a difficult military situation near Leningrad, the NKVD Directorate repeatedly allocated hundreds of its employees to the formation of new NKVD formations, units and subunits of the rear guard. Already on July 9, 1941, the first detachment was formed - a battalion of volunteer police officers and other departments of the UNKVD, the commander of which was appointed head of the BHSS department A.P. Priezzhev. About 300 volunteers entered the battalion. The battalion took its first and very difficult battle near the village of Pustoshka, Kingisepp District. At the end of August, by order of the head of the NKVD Directorate, three more battalions were formed from various units, which entered the 7th regiment of the 20th NKVD rifle division. The commanders of these battalions were the head of the ORUD A.I. Kudryashov and the head of the interregional police school D.V. Kezin. The battalions took part in the fiercest battles on the famous Nevsky Piglet.

In the battle for Stalingrad, the 10th rifle division of the internal troops of the NKVD of the USSR especially distinguished itself. She, along with other units of the NKVD troops, steadfastly held the city until the units of the 62nd Army approached. On December 2, 1942, the 10th division was awarded the Order of Lenin, it was given the honorary name "Stalingrad". Police officers also participated in the defense of the city. On July 24, 1941, by order of the head of the UNKVD, the Stalingrad police were reduced to a separate battalion headed by the head of the regional police department N.V. Biryukov. In accordance with the decree of the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR of June 24, 1941, 66 fighter battalions were formed in all districts and the regional center within 3 days. In rural areas, they were commanded by the heads of the district departments (departments) of the NKVD, and in Stalingrad - by the heads of the city police departments.

Former commander of the 62nd Army Marshal of the Soviet Union V.I. Chuikov wrote: “... militia officers secretly escorted the arriving units to their starting positions, went on reconnaissance behind enemy lines. At critical moments, when the enemy managed to break through somewhere and penetrate our defenses, police officers more than once occupied the firing line and, together with the soldiers - the defenders of the city - blocked the enemy's path. The exploits of the soldiers of the NKVD troops, the security officers of the Stalingrad Front, the fighters of the destruction battalions and the militia of Stalingrad are immortalized by an obelisk erected in the center of the hero city.

The internal troops made a significant contribution to the battle for the Caucasus. In August 1942, the Ordzhonikidze, Grozny and Makhachkala divisions of the internal troops were formed. In cooperation with units of the Red Army, they defended special defensive areas North Caucasus and did not allow the enemy to break through in Transcaucasia. Parts of the NKVD troops actively participated in offensive operations North Caucasian Front. During the liberation of the Kuban and the Taman Peninsula, the First Special and Sukhumi divisions of the NKVD troops successfully operated. In November 1942, junior sergeants P.P. Barbashev and P.K. Guzhvin, who covered the embrasures of enemy firing points with their bodies. They were awarded the title of Heroes of the Soviet Union posthumously.

Internal troops took part in the fighting in the south-west of the country. For example, the 57th brigade of internal troops during the second half of 1941 participated in the defense of the cities: Nikolaev, Shostka, Dneprodzerzhinsk, Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhye, Kharkov and others. For 5 months of the first year of the war, units of this brigade fought 65 battles with the Nazi invaders, as a result of which the enemy lost 7,600 people killed and wounded.

Units of the 5th, 10th, 13th, 19th divisions of the NKVD, the 43rd, 71st brigades, the 16th and 28th motorized rifle regiments, the 227th and the 249th escort regiments, a number of other units.

During the days of the heroic defense of Kiev, a battalion was formed from the employees of the city police, which on July 13, 1941 occupied one of the important defense sectors stretching from the railway bridge across the Dnieper to the Starozhytomyr highway. The fighters of the police battalion worked day and night to strengthen the battle line and make it impregnable for the enemy. In dangerous areas, 7 anti-tank ditches were dug, an average of 15 meters each, 17 anti-tank barriers were erected, and two brick walls 2 meters high were built near the brick factory. When the Nazi troops approached the outskirts of Kiev, the fighters of the police battalion, together with the soldiers of the Red Army, repulsed the enemy attacks. In mid-September 1941, the position of the defenders of Kiev became very difficult. The enemy despite big losses, threw more and more forces into battle. In these tense days, at the direction of the NKVD of the Ukrainian SSR, a regiment was urgently formed from the militia personnel, which occupied the defense line in the area of \u200b\u200bthe Myshelovka tract - Goloseevsky forest (the southern outskirts of the city). The fighting in this area of defense was extremely stubborn, often turning into hand-to-hand combat. Only at the cost of huge losses in manpower and equipment did the enemy manage to break into the city.

In the ranks of the defenders of Odessa, the policemen of the city and the region courageously fought. In the besieged city, they maintained public order, fought against enemy spies, saboteurs and provocateurs. Police officers neutralized enemy spies, whom the Nazis threw into the city and its environs. Hundreds of police officers died the death of the brave ... ".

They were intended for the protection and defense of railway sections, structures, junctions and stations; support of garrisons guarding railway facilities in repelling an attack, as well as assisting them in battle; combating sabotage groups and enemy airborne assault forces in the railway zone; redeployment of reserves and support of their actions; escort of letter trains and important cargoes; actions as part of the NKVD and Red Army troops directly on the fronts in all types of combat.
