English words on the topic "House. Paper house (theme "My House") Lesson my house in English

The house in which the child lives is the most native place for him. From here, the child begins to explore the world. To one of the first words that a child learns to pronounce in native language, include the names of objects in the house. He sees these objects every day, he plays with them, creates a magical world out of them. Any home is a great place to play and a great study guide to learn new words and phrases in any language. Let's learn to talk about it in English.

  • For proper use of the materials, please read
  • To properly prepare your child for lessons, read
  • Don't skip topics, do them one by one. But it is possible and desirable to periodically return to the topics covered.
  • To start each class right, use the transition rituals to foreign language. You can read about them in the Introductory Lessons.
  • If you yourself are just starting to learn this language, then it will be useful for you to read

Tasks

Tasks can be done in any order, combined with each other.

It will be good to remember the tasks from Topic 6. My day and Topics 7. Food

№1

Say phrases from the templates to your child by combining different words. Speak whole phrases, not individual words (“It is a chair” (This is a chair), and not just “chair” (“chair”)). Be sure to accompany words with positive emotions and actions. Show real household objects and toys, photographs or pictures of houses, furniture and everyday situations within the home. Show everyday scenes on toys, how they cook food in the kitchen, eat at the table, make the bed, etc. Each action is accompanied by the appropriate phrase:

  • — Do you want to sleep?(Are you sleepy?)
  • Yes, I want to sleep.(Yes, I want to sleep)
  • — Let's go to the bedroom.(Let's go to the bedroom)
  • - It's your bed. You sleep in this bed. Go to bed. I will read a book for you.(This is your bed. You sleep in this bed. Lie down in bed. I'll read you a book)

Don't translate anything. Repeat each phrase several times. It is not necessary to use all phrases and words in one lesson. One such task should last no more than 3-7 minutes, then finish the lesson or move on to any other task. Use toys, make skits and mini-dialogues with them to show the child the principle of this task.

№2

Walk around the apartment with your child and tell where you are going and what you are doing. Do household chores with your child. And comment on all your actions in English. Examples of dialogues from Topics 6. My day, Topics 7. Food, Topics 8. Clothes will work well here.

Example:

  • — I'm going to the kitchen. I'm opening the door. (I AM I'm going on the kitchen. I open the door)
  • — There is a table, a fridge, chairs and a window in the kitchen. (The kitchen has a table, refrigerator, chairs and a window)
  • — It's hot in our kitchen. I'm opening the window. (On the kitchen hot. I open the window
  • — Do you want to eat? (You want there is?)
  • Lets cook together. (Let's cook together)

So you do household chores and work out. When the child passes new words "through the hands", that is, picks up objects and names them. He remembers words better thanks to his associative memory.

№3

Make up stories about the life of your child's favorite toys and choose the appropriate dialogues.

  • Lets visit the family of pigs(Let's go visit the pig family)
  • - They live in a small pink houseThey live in a little pink house)
  • — This is their bedroom. They are sleeping. Where do they sleep? (This their bedroom. They sleeping. Where do they sleep?)
  • — They sleep on small yellow beds.(They sleep in little yellow beds)
  • — Oh. They are waking up. They want to eat. (O! They wake up. They want to eat
  • — Where do they eat? (Where they are eating?)
  • — They eat in the kitchen. (They eat in the kitchen
  • - They invite us to drink tea together.(They invite us to drink tea together)
  • — Let's drink tea. Do you want to drink black or green tea?(Let's drink tea. Do you want to drink black or green tea?)
  • — I want to drink black tea.(I want to drink black tea)

№4

See different pictures and photos of houses, furniture, household chores and home furnishings. Paintings by great artists with still lifes and images of various everyday scenes are very well suited. At the same time, you can begin to acquaint the child with painting. Any picture books with furniture and home furnishings will also work. Name all the things you see. Describe their color and size. List people, fairy-tale characters and name what they do.

Your family photos can be used too.

№5

Read any verse to your child, show pictures of furniture and perform the necessary movements in the text. You can hum every rhyme to any tune. Repeat the verse several times at one time. Connect toys to the game. Let them do the movement too. Find the lyrics below.

№6

Draw, sculpt and make colorful crafts as much as possible. Draw your house and fictional houses, furniture, child's room, kitchen. Draw what you are doing in each room. Sculpt furniture, cut out paper, make dollhouses from any materials at hand. List colors and sizes.

The funnier and more unusual your drawings are, the better. Surprise your child. Only bright and positive impressions make the child remember something and make him want to repeat after you.

№7

Watch the video, sing along (even if only those words that you know) and perform the movements.

New vocabulary

  • you should know these new words before starting classes with your child
  • You can learn words not all words at once, but in groups of 3-5 words, and gradually add them over several days
  • The last column shows transcription in Russian letters as a hint, but I draw your attention to the fact that Russian letters cannot convey everyone English sounds . In particular: interdental [s] and [z] (when written th), English [p], nasal [n] (when written ng) and special English vowels. Therefore, if you still do not read English well, be sure to check it out first)

Grammar Quick Reference

For parents who are starting to learn the language or who do not speak it well enough:

  • You need to master the following grammar rules:
  1. There are two concepts of "house" in English.
  • house - a house is like a building (This is a big house -Its a big house.)
  • home - the house is like a hearth, like something personal.(Let's go to home— Let's go home.I'm home -Im at home)
  1. Let's take another pretty popular time "Present continious" ( present Continuous )

It is very popular in oral speech, but if it is difficult for you to understand it and get used to using it, it's not scary. Use the normal simple present tense.

But for the daredevils I will tellJ

The present continuous tense is used to describe action that has not yet ended and continues at the present time.

It is formed with verb to be + semantic verb with the ending - ing .

In general, you only need to be able to conjugate the verbto be, and stick the same ending -ingto the semantic verb.

For instance:

  • I AM now sitting on the chair(I'm sitting on the chair now)
  • I AM now standing on the sex(I'm standing on the floor now)

When we speak in the simple present tense, we speak as if in general, without specifying whether the action has ended or continues.

For instance:

  • I AM usually sitting on the chair(I usually sit on the chair)
  • I AM usually standing on the sex(I usually stand on the floor)

The difference is very subtle. But you can catch it.

  1. Conjugation of irregular verbs from this topic:
  • to sit- in the past:sat
  • to stand- in the past:stood
  • to throw- in the past:threw
  • to get- in the past:got
  • to put- in the past:put
  • to come- in the past:came
  • to goin the past:went
  1. There is / there are

These two expressions are used to describe how something is and where it is.

Literally translated "There is". If after the expression the object is used in the singular, then they say "There is (a chair)". If after the expression objects are used in plural, then they say "There are (two chairs)».

In Russian, we can simply say: "There is a table and chairs in the kitchen." V English language a verb must always be present in a sentence; these rather popular set expressions are used for this purpose.

Nobody disputes that it is best to learn a foreign language with an experienced teacher. Or at least sign up for language classes smapse.ru/catalog/program-32/.

But for additional classes and for memorizing new words, it is best to use cards.

These cards are made up of two halves. To begin with, the student simply takes a card from the stack, looks at the picture (and at the word in Russian), reads the English word with the help of transcription, tries to remember. He flips to the side and takes the next card...

When the student can say the word just by seeing the picture, you can fold the cards in half so that the picture and text are on opposite sides of the card. The halves must be carefully glued together. Now the cards will become denser and last longer.

The next step is to name the word simply from the picture.

English poems that mention parts of the house and furniture

I Never Want to Go to Bed
Kenn Nesbitt

I never want to go to bed.
I like to stay up late.
I "m bouncing off the bedroom walls
and, frankly, feeling great!

I'm dancing like a maniac
instead of counting sheep.
My mom says, "Time for bed."
My dad yells, "Get your butt to sleep!"

I "m not sure what my bottom
has to do with anything
but that's okay because I'd rather
jump around and sing.

I don't know what it was
that made me feel so wide awake.
Could it have been the Red Bull
and the double-chocolate cake?

I wonder if the seven cups
of coffee plus dessert
of Hershey bars and Skittles
are what left me this alert?

Whatever it turns out to be
that made me feel right
I hope I track it down
so I can stay up every... ZZZzzzzz

The Kitchen

A home is made of many rooms
To rest, to sleep, to shower,
To play, and read, and talk a lot,
Do hobbies by the hour.

But the kitchen, ah, the kitchen
Is a room that's made of dreams
Of fantasies... created by
A love of cooking schemes.

To touch, to smell, to visualize
The wonders that occur...
And then to taste, and then to taste
results of things that were.

At one time just "ingredients,"
In their places on the shelves
But become a wondrous mixture
As though transformed by elves.

Yes, a home is made of many rooms.
Each one has it's pleasures,
But the kitchen is the best of all
For finding hidden treasures.

Please remember - don't forget...
Mabel Lucie Attwell

Please remember - Don't forget!
Never leave the bathroom wet.
Nor leave the soap still in the water. -
That's a thing we never ought "er! -
And as you "ve been so often told,
Never let the "hot" run "cold";
Nor leave the towels upon the floor.
Nor keep the bath an hour or more
When other folks are wanting one;
Just don't forget - it isn't done! -
An "if you" d really do the things -
There's not the slightest need to sing!

Learning English is difficult without the right materials at hand. But don't panic!Today, our collection is replenished - a series of educational cards "My Home". Download for free and learn the names of rooms in English.
Educational flashcard sets are very popular among children's educators. Teachers use them to get the child's attention, learn new vocabulary, and diversify the lesson. In addition, bright cards perfectly develop memory, logic and imaginative thinking.
Today we are giving you a series of educational materials on the topic "My Home" 🏡. You can download the cards for free.

How to work with cards: we teach objects and rooms in the house with the baby

Exercise 1. Listen and repeat

This is the easiest exercise. The child remembers English words through frequent repetition. It's simple:
Show the card to the child and say the word.
- Ask him to repeat.
The task can be diversified with the help of emotions. Say the words joyfully, sadly, surprised, loudly or in a whisper. The child will definitely like to copy you in a different voice. First, say the word evenly and clearly, then start playing, changing intonation. So the repetition of the same thing will turn from a monotonous activity into a fun game.

Exercise 2. "Label your home"

Use cards as labels for all items in the house. Attach the bed card to the bed, place the table card on the dining table, and put the mirror card on the mirror. Do this with your child, calling all the words in turn. Each time, seeing cards in front of him, the child will repeat the words and remember their spelling.

Exercise 3. Find the mistake

When the child is already used to the "labels" in the house, swap a few of them.

Invite your child to find the labels that are mixed up.

Here you will find a description of how to make an interesting material for children from a simple A4 sheet by which they can learn the names of rooms in English, as well as some interior items.

This house caught my eye for a long time, I posted it in my group in contact. Having created a topic here on the site, I decided to post it here. I hope many people will like this idea, and they will be able to successfully use it in their lessons with children. My kids love this house. Children generally like pictures, and if they somehow transform, change, open, then this causes great delight. Well, we, with such pictures that attract their attention, are pursuing our goal - learning new or repeating vocabulary on the desired topic.

Here is the house:

bedroom, kitchen, garage, front door

Let's open it:

bathroom, living room, dining room

In such a house, you can learn not only the names of the rooms ( living room, kitchen, garage, bedroom etc.), but also interior items ( sofa, armchair, sink, bed, picture etc.), prepositions of place ( behind, in front of, on etc.).

It will be interesting for children to make such a house as a craft:

You can prepare signs with the names of the rooms in advance for the children to stick them on their houses.

You can also add rooms on the back of the house.
For instance:

study- cabinet
games room- game
laundry room / washing room– laundry
library- library

If you find the material interesting, share it with your friends on social networks.
