Many counselors in the game represent a slasher movie trail of some sort, but most of them fit well in a determined role on their team. Chad, however, is a different story. His stats are more finely tuned for representing his trope rather than fit a role, and in this case it's seizing opportunities whenever possible. He can work with a team, but his idea of teamwork is oftentimes warped.
Chad is terrible at fixing objectives due to his abysmal repair stat, and while his speed would suggest being a part runner, he sports glaring weaknesses in both composure and stamina . Simply put, he has too many conflicting issues to act as the team's part runner safely. Instead, Chad's defining trait is his luck , but since this stat isn't well understood by players starting off, it can be difficult to understand exactly what niche he fills.
First off, Chad possesses an interesting trump card most inexperienced players will be unaware of. Since luck increases a weapon's durability, a maxed luck stat means the baseball bat in particular becomes a powerhouse weapon which can last several swings, even with its naturally low durability (so long as you attack Jason outside of stun invincibility frame rates), taking into account all the extra bonuses given by the luck stat, it becomes obvious Chad is a natural escape artist, and he can duel Jason in order to buy himself more time.
Finally, despite his below average stamina, his speedy nature gives him great sprinting potential in bursts, allowing him to make a quick escape when the going gets tough. However, if you aren't careful you can run out of stamina quickly, so jogging is the preferred way to keep away from Jason (unless you absolutely need the extra speed, such as avoiding a Shift-Grab attempt for instance).
How all this relates to his teamwork depends on whether or not you intend to distract Jason. Chad is fast, he can kite Jason fairly well, and Jason will have problems dealing with someone who can repeatedly stun him. Therefore you can consider using him as a bodyguard to protect the team, then make a grand escape while Jason recooperates. But in reality, Chad is an opportunist. There are some cases where Chad can"t save someone, and when this happens it"s sometimes better to cut your losses by running away. It "s not a glorious thing to do, but trying to help a doomed teammate could very well cost your life, and it wastes Chad"s potential as an escape artist.
Ultimately, Chad is frightened easily, which makes him unable to face off against Jason in advanced encounters before his fear gets the best of him. But he also regains his bravery faster if he manages to find a new hiding spot, making it difficult for Jason to hunt Chad down once more with his Sense ability if too much time has passed. Once the coast is clear, look for teammates again to find your next means of survival.
In the end, teammates will have to expect Chad isn'ta true team player. He can fight well, so long as he wields a good stun weapon like the baseball bat, but he also panics quickly. And while he favors working with a team , it"s mainly because he will be looking to seize an opportunity when it shows up. He doesn't possess enough composure to be around Jason for long without cowering in fear, so whatever you do make sure it involves a quick getaway.
As for weapons, arm Chad with the baseball bat; it "s one of the main reasons why you play him to begin with. Firearms can work as well, but the baseball bat should be a priority.
Friends can be nice, but they can also get you murdered. Cowards might be looked down upon... but sometimes, cowards live. The same can "t always be said about the hero.

- Before Sheldon "Shelly" Finkelstein and Mitch Floyd were released, he was the only male counselor not modeled after a real person. However, he appears to be based off of Russell from Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood(1988), as well as Trent from the remake Friday the 13th (2009).
- He also shares a few similarities with Paul from the movie Friday the 13th: Part 2 (1981).
- An achievement named "Chad is a Dick" can be unlocked from player escapes with the car or boat alone while another player is still alive. This achievement was likely added into the game for comedic purposes; it implies he is selfish enough to abandon others if it means saving himself, a known trait of the trope he represents, and foreshadows the opportunistic gameplay he specializes in.
- Despite what the name of the achievement implies, playing as Chad is not required to unlock it.
- During all known intros for starting a game, Chad is highlighted as being the first person to panic upon seeing Jason's execution of Rob, a fellow counselor.
- The loading screens reveal Chad is a Momma's Boy, albeit he would never willingly admit this to others.

Database login failure BUG FIX
Why is there an error?
The login error is due to a corrupted player database on the developer's server. This is due to the increased load on the server in the first minutes of the release of the game. The developers expected 30k players, but in the end, 75k entered the game. Servers are the same for PS, XBOX and PC. The developers are working to restore the database and expand the capacity of the servers. Not all players receive an error entering the game, as the database is partially corrupted. Game progress error (not leveling up, perks not installing, etc.) is also related to database corruption and will be fixed along with the login error. The server restart is scheduled for May 29, the game will be unavailable for some time.
Therefore, you can get around the error by creating a new entry in the database, that is, start playing from a different account, you can do this for free by transferring the yoke via Family Sharing.
How to fix?
Transferring the game to another account using the Family Shraing feature from Steam helped me solve this error.
It's not a guaranteed way, but it worked for most people.

Key points when playing as counselors
Playing as a counselor, your main task will be to survive. There are several ways to complete this goal: fix the vehicle, call the cops, hide well from Voorhees and sit in a secluded corner until the end of the match, or try to kill the maniac. As a result, the Gun Media project turns out to be much more diverse than the previously released Dead by Daylight.
Survivors have several useful items and abilities at their disposal. Each counselor has a flashlight, access to a map showing the location of various buildings, and the ability to use melee weapons.
How to reduce fear
The indicator of fear is one of the main problems of counselors. It increases when the character is near Jason, as well as when he stays in the dark for a long time and finds the corpse of another player. Why is fear so dangerous? The fact is that the higher it is, the easier it is for Voorhees to determine your location.

Inventory, Endurance and Repair

Repairs are often needed for broken electrical panels, vehicles, and telephone booths. By repairing these items, you can lower your fear score and gain new means of escape. Trying to repair this or that object, you will have to play a mini-game. The higher the "Repair" parameter of your character, the faster he will be able to repair the selected item. During the repair, keys will appear on the screen that you need to quickly press. If you make a mistake or do not have time to click on the right button, then the repair will fail and you will make a loud noise that Jason will certainly hear if he is nearby.
Weapons and ways of salvation
We wrote about how to escape from Jason in a separate article. If we talk about weapons, then all over the map you can find bits, steel pipes and knives that cause a certain amount of damage to the maniac. In addition, with the help of it you can stun the big man. However, any weapon has a strength indicator, so after a few hits on Voorhees, it can break.
You can try to kill a maniac with brute force, but this is incredibly difficult to do. Most likely, in this case, only one player will survive. If you decide to attack Jason, then the first thing you will need to do is get into a combat stance (the "C" key by default).
Items and barricades
The game has a large number of items that can be used to divert Jason's attention, locate him or increase his health points. For example, with the help of a bear trap, the player is able to stop Voorhees for a while in order to have time to escape. The radio distracts the maniac with the sounds it makes, and the pocket knife will give you a chance to free yourself from the monster's grip. One counselor can hold 3 small items in his inventory and hold one large item in his hands.
Any door can be bolted or barricaded with various furniture. Where to hide?

You should be careful about increasing the level of the counselor, as the character's life may depend on it. For any match in which you take part, certain experience points are issued. Raising the level, you can open new items, which in turn give certain bonuses to the counselor.
All perks are divided into several groups: Poor (low-grade), Common (common), Uncommon (rare), Rare (rare) and Epic (epic). The best ones are, of course, epic perks. But it is worth remembering that these features have both advantages and disadvantages. During the game, the character can only use 3 perks.
In addition to bonuses, each counselor has a certain number of parameters, the value of which varies from 1 to 10. These characteristics include:
- Strength (Strength) - affects the damage inflicted on Jason with melee weapons, and the cost of stamina when performing combat movements.
- Stealth - Affects the noise the character makes and blunts Voorhees' Sense skill.
- Composure - affects the rate at which the fear bar rises and makes it easier to break free from the grip of the maniac.
- Luck (Luck) - affects the strength of the weapon (with a high rate, it will last you longer) and slightly increases all other parameters.
- Speed (Speed) - affects the speed of movement of the character.
