What time is the end in military schools. "Course, rise!", or an ordinary day of a student of the Air Force Academy

A typical student day goes something like this: university, work, if any, food, free time, dream. As a rule, they also complain that there is not enough time for the last three points. And how is the weekday of the cadets of the military academy? About this to the correspondent “P.S. - 5 owls,” said one of the students, who wished not to disclose his name.

6:00. Climb

Defenders of the Motherland every day, except Sunday, wake up at 6 am. On Sunday they have a day off, so they get up late - at 7.

We wake up under the command: "Course, rise!" We open all the windows and throw back the blankets from the bed to air the room. Exactly 5 minutes later we have to stand in sportswear on the street. Everyone goes to charge, no exceptions. On the street, we will have a short run, usually about 3 kilometers, and a standard set of exercises, - says the cadet.

After the guys go to the barracks. They are given half an hour to wash, shave, make beds, put themselves and their uniforms in order for those who did not have time in the evening, and already at 7:15 stand at the morning inspection by the foreman of the unit.
- He checks our appearance how our uniform looks, shoes, and how the bed is made. If something is wrong with someone, then the foreman makes a remark and sends it to be redone, - the student says.

Then the cadets begin breakfast, followed by the raising of the national flag on the parade ground to the anthem Russian Federation.

9:00. Training sessions

Air Force Academy students study every day except Sunday. Usually they have three couples, 1.5 hours each. They go to classes in everyday green uniforms, but during exams they wear blue dress uniforms.

End at 14:00 training sessions, and cadets are given 10 minutes to change their work clothes, clean their shoes and wash their hands before lunch.

14:10. Dinner

We have 30 minutes for lunch. We can say that we have a small buffet: what kind of soup you wanted, you took it for yourself. Usually they give borscht, buckwheat soup, pea soup, there are also second courses, compote, tea and some kind of sweet bun.

After the students are given personal time: to rest, sleep, clean clothes. At 15:25, the cadets begin self-training, or, as it is called, "SAMPO". At SAMPO, they prepare for classes, go to consultations with teachers, study on their own in classrooms.
At 19:30 SAMPO ends and cadets are given 10 minutes to clean up before dinner.

19:40. Dinner

For dinner, "green" is given only 20 minutes. After the cadets have time for personal needs, from 20:00 to 21:00.
- At this time, we can talk with family and friends. By the way, the phones are with the commanders of the groups and they are given out for an hour only in their personal time, and then they are taken away again.

21:05. An evening walk

Evening walk lasts only 15 minutes. Cadets breathe fresh air, march in formation and sing "Katyusha", "Marusya", "A soldier is walking through the city" and other military songs.
At 21:20, the twenty-minute evening verification begins. The foreman bypasses the personnel and sums up the results of the day.

From 21:40 we have an evening toilet. We are given only 20 minutes, so we need to act very quickly: swim, shave, put ourselves and the form in order. Of course, there is little time for this, but life at such a pace has taught us to act quickly, - the cadet says.

22:00. lights out

After the 16-hour day comes the long-awaited release. The cadet's dream is to kiss the pillow. During the lights out, an inspector is on duty at the course, keeps order and checks the personnel.
And the next day - getting up at 6:00 and everything is repeated anew: exercises, cleaning of buildings, breakfast ...

Would you like to connect your life with military affairs?

At first I wanted to make this article long with detailed description lectures, seminars, laboratory work and everything else. But, firstly, there is still a whole chapter devoted only to study, and it will all be there. And now we will continue the review of the daily routine and dwell purely on the features of military training.

Three couples were assigned to classes every day, except for a weekend Sunday. Beginning at 9.00, ending at 14.15. Between couples there is a big break of 15 minutes, and between academic hours 5 minutes. It seems that we did not learn much, but we had enough. Especially if there were some field exercises or all three pairs of the same discipline, it happened like that.

What are the features?

The most amazing thing for me is the constant summing up

Every week, every month and, of course, the semester, the results of our training were summed up. In the unit, we sat on stools and there was a distribution. The best and the worst were singled out.

That is, for each discipline, the marks of each cadet were written out for a week (month, semester) and all people were sorted into excellent students, good students, three students and two students:

  • If in all subjects or in 75% of the disciplines of the five, and the rest is good - an excellent student.
  • If only good or excellent, but less than 75% of fives - good.
  • At least one triple is a triplet.
  • At least one two is a two.

And this alone sometimes decides whether you are good or bad. Because personal discipline and excellent service in outfits were taken for granted, for which, as it were, it was not worth encouraging.

That is how I, having received a single five at a seminar on cultural studies, became an excellent student in the first week of study in 2003. And this allowed me, almost the only one from the entire course (except for the enlisted soldiers, who a week earlier, during the oath, were on duty) to go on the first dismissal. The rest of the layoffs were deprived of poor internal order, I wrote about.

But never after have I managed to be even good at the end of the weeks. True, he was not a doppelgänger. Always threes. That did not stop me from taking session after session only perfectly well. (How damn modest I am!).

Appointment of a duty officer

A duty officer for the training group was appointed daily. In our highly organized platoon, this was the morning cleaner, so that there would be no confusion and injustice. And although I wrote that he was appointed from especially stunted people who did not want to run, it was not always so. By the senior courses, the next cleaner was assigned to the beds. That's how they slept, so they took turns cleaning the barracks in the morning. It was convenient, because you could always know approximately your day when you were on duty.

Which is extremely important, and here's why. The duties of the attendant included being the first to the teacher. Ask what you need, take chalk, maps (topographic), set up a lecturer, prepare a board and all that. The duty officer ordered everyone to stand up at the entrance of the teacher and reported that such and such study group in the amount of so many people arrived at the classes. And on the board was written the expenditure of personnel. According to the list, there is an outfit, a medical unit, vacation or somewhere else and how much.

Remember: the word AVAILABLE is spelled together! How many people suffered from ridicule especially jealous of the Russian language teachers. Often they asked “whose face?” When it was written separately. Although some didn't care.

So, if it was easier with civilian teachers, then it was categorically difficult to enter the department of our tactics “Wax Air Defense Tactics” just to enter the teacher’s office correctly. They were all no lower than a lieutenant colonel, but mostly colonels. Servant and meritorious. Not without a shell in the head, many. And then the accompanying study of the statutes of the Internal Service and the Combatant began. Remember - you will shudder.

And having a schedule in hand and knowing your date of duty, you could calculate whether it would be a good day or not. And now about the schedule.

Own schedule

This is another great feature of military education. My younger sister is now studying at one of the sovereign's universities, so she doesn't know which couples and when they will be placed earlier than a few days before they start. This is simply not possible in a military school.

Before the start of each semester, each department is issued printed in the printing house of the academy (and there is one!) Class schedules for the entire semester, including exams. For half a year, we knew in which office, what time and to whom I would take an exam, a test, or something else in one or another discipline.

Everything was written in a special encrypted form of letters, numbers and circles. The name of the subject, the number of the topic and the lesson, the number of the educational building and the office, the type of lesson and the name of the teacher. And not once in five years has there been a single replacement! I do not know how many people were involved in its development, who these people are and even where they were. But these are geniuses. Imagine sync studying proccess an entire academy with about one and a half thousand students. Think about who will sit in which class, who will teach them, and so that nothing crosses anywhere. Cool guys!

What the class schedule itself looked like below, but here is an enlarged fragment:

Let's take the first discipline as an example:

  • RCS - Radio circuits and signals (name of discipline)
  • 6/63 lr - topic 6, lesson No. 63, lr - laboratory work.
  • 3/309 - building number and auditorium number.
  • 1109, 1108 - numbers of teachers (where 11 is the number of the department, the second group of numbers of the teacher directly).
  • A further wavy line with an arrow means that the laboratory is for two pairs.

Pay attention to the line above the 6th instead of classes and the beginning of the same line on the 13th. This is a big outfit. On this day, no classes were planned for the platoon. We took part in the guard (from 13 to 15 people), and the rest in other types of outfits of the academy. More on that later.

All teachers were listed in the annotations under the schedule, but we already knew them, so this part was usually cut off. After that, the schedule was laminated with adhesive tape on the back and worn folded in four for all six months. Days gradually faded away. By the end of the semester, the rather tattered schedule was like a war map. I tried to keep them. True, now offhand I found only one:

221 study groups. 3 semester 2004-2005 academic year

Rare rarity. First semester of the second year 2004-2005 academic year. There is even a donor day in the schedule. True, I was on a collective farm, as the record says. And behind me personally and another friend of mine recorded their outfits. For order. Although the sheets of outfits, as expected, were kept by the castle platoon.

After straining, I can only remember a few times that the teacher who was not the one indicated in the schedule came, and even then from civilians. Exactly! A math teacher was sick. Everything!

Room for maneuver

Such a rigid schedule gave room for action. Once I quarreled with the ensign-laboratory assistant of one of the departments. The matter reached the head of the department, they sorted it out and it turned out that I was right. This demonstrative saga, I, perhaps, will write somehow, now it’s different. The colonel apologized, we sort of hushed up the story, but before the session itself, through the son of one of the teachers, who was also my colleague, I received information that there was an idea to stab me in one of the two exams of this department. Since the teachers were imbued with sympathy for the ensign.

In one of the disciplines, I went to the "automatic", since I had several fives in a row, and the teacher at the beginning of the year promised amnesty to such conscious military men. And now the last lesson before the test with an assessment (more terrible than the exam) is coming. Seminar. On which I will get a hundred poods of three, if not a deuce, and Khan to me. And the subject is a muddy shokapets. In principle, it didn’t warm me to hand it over, but in such situations it didn’t at all. But there is a schedule! I know when this seminar is. In short, I asked to hide me in a company outfit for that day, and that's all. And the sheep are full and the wolves are safe. I did get an automatic.

That's enough about education for now.
